Postgraduate study at Lancaster is an investment in your future, one which will enable you to extend yourself academically whilst boosting your career prospects.

Despite the low cost of living in the city, tuition fees and living and other incidental expenses will mean that postgraduates at the University should expect to spend approximately £8,500 each year. Most of our students find that by putting together a portfolio of different types of funding - savings, income, grants and other awards, and loans - they are able to meet these expenses, allowing them to concentrate on their programme of study.

Given the complexity of postgraduate funding arrangements, we understand that, at first sight, finding sources of financial support might seem daunting. However, with the support you'll receive from our staff, both at university-level and within faculties and departments, you can be assured we'll do our utmost to help you in your applications for funding; each year across the UK, approximately 100,000 students start a postgraduate programme, so it is possible!
