The postgraduate taught courses within the school of Engineering are offered in five major subject areas: Advanced Manufacturing and Enterprise, Civil, Design, Electronic and Computer and Mechanical Engineering. Research programmes offered at the school are international standards - compliant and are ranked as internationally excellent.

For international students the School offers a full-time 14 week Intensive International Pre-Masters Course. It combines academic study, intensive English Language preparation, study skills and an orientation programme.

Advanced Manufacturing & Enterprise Engineering (AMEE)

AMEE at Brunel is one of the first integrated innovative engineering disciplines in the UK. This is truly a place where cutting edge research brings the frontiers of science and technology to postgraduate and undergraduate students.

 

Brunel Design

Brunel Design has an outstanding reputation for research both nationally and internationally. It fosters extensive and positive links with industry and commerce, resulting in programmes at both Masters and research level that are highly relevant to the needs of the business world.

 

Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering brings together the traditional and cutting edge aspects of the subject to generate high-quality research in the next generation of essential facilities such as sustainable building construction, roads, bridges, tunnels, flood protection, waste recycling and construction management.

 

Electronic & Computer Engineering

The Electronic and Computer Engineering discipline is one of the largest in the University, with a portfolio of research contracts totalling £5.0 million, and has strong links with industry.

 

Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering research at Brunel has an excellent track record and an international reputation. The department has extensive and well-equipped laboratories. Its particular areas of strength are engine testing, environmental engineering, fluid mechanics, structural testing and vibrations.

Within the School there is extensive research conducted within several research groups. Research programmes in the School include MPhil, PhD, New Route PhD and EngD routes.
