Communications Engineering
Data networks, wifi, wireless games consoles; the revolution in digital media means the role of multimedia systems has rapidly grown in importance, becoming an active area of innovation and development in industry today.
Graduates with practical skills in computer programming, multimedia content development and software engineering are highly sought after across a range of industry: telecommunications, medicine, entertainment and defence.
Communications Engineering is made up of eight compulsory, multidisciplinary modules including: programming and software engineering, digital signal processing, data networks, mobile wireless communications and digital image processing. In the final year student's can opt to take a year in industry, gaining direct professional experience, before returning to DMU to complete a dissertation on a topic of their choice.
