Computing and Management
Overview
This course offers you the opportunity to pursue your interests in both computing and management subjects at a postgraduate level. This MSc runs in collaboration with Leeds University Business School and is suitable for students with undergraduate degrees in disciplines other than computing or management and also for those with a computing degree as there are advanced computing modules available.
Modules taken in the Business School will give you a firm foundation in essential management issues, including marketing, finance, and organizational theory. In the School of Computing you will be introduced to the core fundamentals of information systems and computer science, including programming, within an environment of cutting-edge computing research. If you have a computing background you will be able to take the more advanced computing modules.
Entry Requirements
A degree equivalent to a UK upper second class honours (2.1) degree or higher.
A pass at GCSE level in English Language (grade C or above). International students must have an English language qualification at a suitable level, for example IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
Career Options
Having completed this course, you will be able to enter a high-flying career as an IT professional having both a sophisticated technical knowledge and the ability to approach the deployment of IT from a management perspective. Job prospects are likely to be in IT project management, the implementation of IT strategy in companies, the management of companies through IT-enabled change.
