Project Management - MSc

(Full-time or part-time)

Projects are about delivering organisational change - projects drive new initiatives, product developments, service improvements which are largely intangible, as well as projects that produce the physical world around us including buildings and roads.

Many organisations see projects as a way of delivering benefits to themselves and their customers. Project managers are therefore at the forefront of leading change in a diverse range of organisations, from charities and local government, to banks, aerospace, construction, retail and the wider commercial sector. Becoming a highly qualified project manager enhances your professional standing and gives confidence to those you work with that you can deliver positive change.

Project management is a richly rewarding career and the course specifically aims to evaluate the unique and multi-elemental nature of projects and to instil the motivation and commitment needed to develop and implement projects in a professional and enthusiastic manner.

This course is designed to attract project managers from a diverse range of backgrounds and sectors. It provides a stimulating environment in which to learn and develop new skills and embrace current and emerging thinking in this exciting and rapidly developing field.

Students study a range of subjects which explore both the technical and people aspects of delivering projects. A research dissertation is also undertaken into a specific area of interest to you. Attendance on the course is either on a part time basis for two years or a full time basis for one year. Assessment is based on coursework and examinations.

Entry requirements:

You should normally have a UK honours degree in a relevant discipline, an equivalent professional qualification or another appropriate qualification, together with appropriate professional experience or a suitable record of achievement.
