Design Practice & Management
All students will complete a work and study/learning placement in a creative company. The programme aims are:
- To provide a comprehensive and balanced programme of practical design and design management skills.
- To provide practical experience in the work-place and an industry informed toolkit for commercial practice
- To develop an understanding of how to cost and price creative work and how to control costs and maximise return
- To develop research skills including, how to understand your marketplace and customers
- To develop the ability to manage timescales,budgets and expectations
- To develop a critical approach to developing and evaluating design briefs
- To provide experience and knowledge in client and project management
- To provide knowledge of the intellectual property laws concerning the creative industries
- To develop students ability to work independently and as part of a commercial team
