Introduction

This course has been designed in collaboration with industry to develop your knowledge and skills to meet the needs of industry and update or retrain more experienced engineers. The broad-based programme deals with a range of design and management areas relevant to electronic system development projects.

Specifically, we aim to develop the technical knowledge and skills of graduates for roles such as design/development engineers in the area of electronic and computer based system design. The emphasis is on developing the ability to apply knowledge and skills in modern design environments.

Electronics modules focus on modern computer aided design methods, developing digital systems by refinement from a high-level language (VHDL) description, taking account of the need for testability. Our computer based systems modules employ modern high-level language programming and software development methods in systems incorporating microcomputers.

Course Structure

The course can be completed in one year, by full-time attendance. In exceptional circumstances we can extend it over a period of part-time study to suit students and their employers.
