Cyber Defence and Information Assurance

Duration: PgCert: 18 months flexible learning.
Entry Requirements:
Normally a 1st or 2nd class Honours degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline or relevant professional equivalent. Alternatively, a lesser qualification with relevant professional experience may be acceptable. Students whose first language is not English must attain an IELTS score of 7.
Course Description:
The programme is designed to develop professionals who can effectively manage and exploit the threats and opportunities of cyberspace at the organisational level. It will specifically focus on responses to serious present and emerging threats in the information domain.
Modules:
The following course modules will be offered:
- Understanding Risk and Information Assurance (entry point and pre-requisite for other modules)
- Cyber Defence in Depth - Strategy and Accountability
- Cyber Defence in Depth - Management and Implementation
- Cyber Attack - Threats and Opportunities
- The Human Dimension
- The Social Dimension - the Impact of Social Media
