Computer Animation Technology - PG CERT
About Your Course
Computer technology has revolutionised the production of animation for a broad range of visual media, both in 2D and 3D. Skills in computer animation now offer you a route into a rapidly growing, diverse industry with outlets in games, advertising, design and visualisation as well as film and television. This course will allow you to develop your specialist expertise and knowledge of animation technology, giving you an opportunity to use new digital animation tools and develop skills, methods and techniques in the use of this exciting technology, both creatively and technically.
You will investigate recent and emerging 3D computer modelling, animation, visualisation and rendering techniques, including character animation and motion capture using our Vicon suite, gain skills in the use of programmable/scriptable VR applications for the control and generation of content within desktop VR and interactive 3D authoring systems, and investigate current technologies in video, motion graphics, post-production and special effects, compositing 2D and 3D animated material into video and film footage.
Benefits of studying this course
Our creative connections courses are a unique combination of technical innovation and visual creativity. You will be taught by a skilled group of artists, designers and technologists, we pride ourselves on the diversity of our delivery.Currently our tutors include digital artists, visual effects and compositing experts who have worked with some of the most important animation, games and visual effects companies in the world including Digital Domain and Rockstar.
